| CENTER FOR INTERNATIONAL PORT POLICY (CIPP) |

| "Center for International Port Policy (CIPP)" has
been established as an extra division in OCDI for the purpose of research on
port policies in foreign countries, promotion of international exchange between
foreign researchers, and development of international port policy. Much of experience
and expertise acquired by OCDI through research and studies can be utilized for
the activities of CIPP. The major activities of CIPP are as follows: |

Research and Study on Port Policy
(1) Fact findings and policy advice relevant to international port security and
environmental countermeasures
(2) Fact findings and policy advice relevant to integrated international multi-modal
transport
(3) Research and study relevant to domestic port construction and open-market
policy on port operation
(4) Research and study relevant to policy proposals on port cooperation at APEC
port specialist conferences
(5) Research and study relevant to policy proposal on international logistic
cooperation at Northeast Asian port director conferences
(6) Research and study relevant to policy proposals on international logistic
cooperation at IMO conferences
(7) Research and study relevant to proposal on implementation of Japan-ASEAN
transport sector cooperation
Fact Findings and Analysis
(1) Developmrnt of basic international port database
(cargo volume OD, port tariff, data of vessel size, etc.)
(2) System analysis on extensive international logistics
(3) Analysis on port tariff
(4) Maintenance and revision of APEC port database
International Exchange
(1) Development of human networks and human resouce database
(2) Supply and agency of foreign human resouces and information on coastal development
policy to relevant domestic parties
(3) Exchange between researchers and specialists |
